Jharkhand Assembly Election Nominations Begin Soon

The nomination process for the first phase of the Jharkhand Assembly elections, covering 43 constituencies, begins on October 18, with submissions open until October 25. Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar announced that nominations can be filed daily between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., and candidates must pay a security deposit of Rs 10,000 or Rs 5,000 for SC/ST candidates. Voting is scheduled for November 13, followed by a second phase on November 20, with results announced on November 23. A total of 2.60 crore electors, including 11.84 lakh first-time voters, are expected to participate. Key constituencies include Jamshedpur East, Ranchi, and Garhwa, with several reserved for Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes. The election process adheres to strict guidelines, including limitations on the number of supporters at nomination sites.
