Canada Squad Bolstered by Buchanan, Kone Returns

Jesse Marsch has welcomed back Tajon Buchanan and Ismael Kone to the Canada men's national soccer team ahead of their CONCACAF Nations League quarterfinals against Suriname. Buchanan, who plays for Inter Milan, has recovered from a broken tibia sustained during the Copa America in July, while Kone returns from an ankle injury. The matches are set for November 15 in Paramaribo and November 19 in Toronto, with Canada aiming for a place in the Nations League Finals. Alongside Buchanan and Kone, veteran winger Junior Hoilett also makes a return, though center back Derek Cornelius will miss out due to injury. Canada, currently ranked 35th in the world, faces 136th-ranked Suriname, marking a significant test for the national squad. A successful outcome could lead to their second appearance in the Nations League Finals, having previously lost to the US in 2023.
