Sacramento Kings Sign Maxime Raynaud Three-Year $5.95M Deal

The Sacramento Kings have signed French center Maxime Raynaud, the No. 42 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, to a three-year contract worth approximately $5.95 million, with full guarantees for the first two seasons and a team option for the third. Raynaud, a 7-foot-1 Stanford alumnus, had an impressive senior season averaging 20.2 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game, and is known for his floor spacing and rebounding abilities. Head coach Doug Christie envisions a position-less style of play that leverages Raynaud's shooting and playmaking skills alongside star Domantas Sabonis, noting that both players are effective rebounders and can complement each other on the court. Raynaud is already familiar with Sabonis’ style, having played in an offense modeled after the Kings' system during his college years, which should ease their transition to playing together. The Kings aim to improve their roster from last season's 40–42 record and Play-In loss, with Raynaud expected to take on the physical challenges typical for a rookie while bringing versatility to the frontcourt. Sacramento's Summer League play begins July 10, where fans will get to see Raynaud and fellow rookie Nique Clifford in action.
