Sunil Mittal Entity Sells 1% Bharti Airtel Stake
Indian Continent Investment Ltd, led by Sunil Mittal, sold nearly a 1% stake in Bharti Airtel for ₹11,200 crore (about $1.28 billion) through two open market tranches priced between ₹1,870.40 and ₹1,871.95 per share. The sale reduced Indian Continent Investment's direct holding from 2.47% to 1.49% and brought the overall promoter group's stake down to 50.27%. The transaction attracted strong interest from both domestic and international long-only investors, with proceeds dedicated to strengthening the seller's balance sheet. Following the deal, Bharti Airtel's shares declined by about 2.7–3.3%. Airtel reported strong FY25 financial results, including a consolidated revenue increase of over 10% and a notable surge in net profit, achieving an ARPU of ₹250. The company also announced dividends and granted stock options as part of recent corporate actions.
