Marc Allum Cuts Finger on Penknife at Antiques Roadshow

During a recent episode of Antiques Roadshow, expert Marc Allum inadvertently cut his finger while examining an impressive 48-piece penknife, which he claimed surpassed his own multi-tool. He expressed admiration for the artefact, describing it as 'the most exceptional multi-tool' he had seen in a long time and inquired about its origins from the guest, who was unsure but suggested it might have been used by a salesman. Allum concurred with the guest's theory, explaining that the penknife was more of an exhibition piece showcasing the craftsmanship of the cutler, with its many tools including scissors and saws. He noted that such penknives could hold significant value, potentially fetching between £2,000 and £3,000 at auction. The knife bore the maker's mark 'Godson, Sheffield', indicating its high-quality craftsmanship.
