Will Power Joins Andretti Global for 2026 IndyCar Season
Will Power, a two-time IndyCar champion and 2018 Indianapolis 500 winner, is leaving Team Penske after 17 years to join Andretti Global for the 2026 season, taking over the No. 26 Honda seat vacated by Colton Herta. Herta is transitioning from IndyCar to become a test driver for the Cadillac-backed Andretti Formula 1 team, marking a significant career move toward F1. Power brings an illustrious career record to Andretti, including 45 wins, a series-record 71 poles, over 5,000 laps led, and two championships, and he joins teammates Kyle Kirkwood and Marcus Ericsson. Andretti Global leadership praised Power as a fierce competitor with a great personality who will fit well culturally, while Power expressed enthusiasm about the new chapter and working with the talented Andretti team. Power also acknowledged Herta's natural ability and wished him well in his European racing pursuits. Meanwhile, Penske has announced David Malukas as Power's replacement for their 2026 lineup.
