Utah Valley University men's basketball team kicked off their season with a commanding 92-57 victory over Western Colorado, showcasing strong performances from Toolson and Welling, who each scored 15 points. The Wolverines dominated in rebounding and shooting efficiency, connecting on 61.1% of their shots. Meanwhile, the University of Utah also had a successful season opener, defeating Alcorn State 100-59, led by the Madsen twins who contributed a combined 42 points. Utah State, coming off a Mountain West championship season, is looking to build on its success with a new head coach, Jerrod Calhoun, and aims to continue its strong performance from last year.
