Former Stockton School Board President Indicted for Embezzlement, Fraud

Angelann Flores, the former president of the Stockton Unified School District Board, has been indicted on felony charges of insurance fraud and embezzlement, stemming from her alleged misuse of a district credit card. Arrested in April 2024, Flores is accused of making unauthorized purchases exceeding $1,000, including food and fuel, as well as filing a false insurance claim unrelated to school activities. Her defense attorney contends that Flores is being targeted for her anti-corruption efforts and argues that the charges are disproportionate compared to the alleged misconduct.
