Nagpur to Deploy 250 Electric Buses
EKA Mobility, a prominent electric vehicle manufacturer, has secured a contract from the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) to supply 250 electric buses, marking a significant step towards enhancing public transportation in the city. The buses, which will operate on major routes, aim to improve the quality of public transit while reducing operational costs and emissions. Each 12-meter, air-conditioned bus will accommodate 41 seated and 24 standing passengers, collectively expected to serve over 100,000 commuters daily. The contract has been awarded to Hansa Vahan India Private Limited, which will partner with EKA Mobility for the service and maintenance of the fleet. This initiative aligns with the city’s goals for a more environmentally friendly transport system, addressing urban pollution and promoting cleaner energy solutions. Rohit Srivastava, Chief Growth Officer of EKA Mobility, emphasized the company's commitment to sustainable mobility and its growing leadership in the electric vehicle market.
