Odegaard Injured Again, Uncertain for Norway
Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard was forced off around the 30th minute of Saturday’s 2-0 win over West Ham after appearing to hurt his left knee in a knee-to-knee clash with Crysencio Summerville and was replaced by Martín Zubimendi. The substitution continued a stop-start season — he has twice had shoulder problems earlier in the campaign and has now been substituted before half-time in three consecutive Premier League starts, an unwanted Opta record. Manager Mikel Arteta said Ødegaard was wearing a brace and the club must await medical assessments. Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka scored as Arsenal went into the international break top of the table. There is uncertainty over whether Ødegaard will travel for Norway’s upcoming internationals, and Arsenal hope to manage his recovery carefully ahead of a busy run that includes Fulham and Atlético Madrid.
