Ademola Lookman Leads Nominees for 2024 CAF Awards

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the nominees for the 2024 CAF Awards, with Ademola Lookman from Nigeria leading the shortlist for Player of the Year. Lookman, who has been a standout performer both for Atalanta and the Super Eagles, is joined by Simon Adingra, Serhou Guirassy, Achraf Hakimi, and Ronwen Williams in the running for the prestigious award. The ceremony is set to take place on December 16 in Marrakech, Morocco, and includes various categories such as Goalkeeper of the Year and National Team of the Year, where Nigeria's Super Eagles are nominated. Lookman’s impressive season included a hat-trick in the Europa League Final and significant contributions to his club's successes, earning him a 14th place finish in the Ballon d'Or rankings. The awards aim to celebrate outstanding achievements in African football, recognizing both club and national performances. This year's awards will also spotlight reigning African Player of the Year, Victor Osimhen, as well as other nominees across multiple categories.
