Major Human Trafficking Bust in Metro Detroit

A significant human trafficking operation involving illicit massage parlors in Metro Detroit was dismantled, leading to the arrest of several individuals, including the alleged ringleader, 45-year-old Jingyu Jin. The operation, considered one of the largest uncovered in Michigan, resulted in the rescue of seven to nine women of Chinese and Korean origin. Raids were conducted at four massage parlors, and the investigation, which began in the summer of 2024, involved multiple law enforcement agencies, including federal Homeland Security. Additional suspects charged include Huazi Piao, Jon Villasurda, Oumar Lougue, and Ming Li. The Attorney General of Michigan, Dana Nessel, emphasized that this operation is part of a larger national syndicate and urged public vigilance. The case highlights the broader issue of human trafficking and the importance of collaborative law enforcement efforts to combat such crimes.
