Mark Ruffalo Praises Jon Bernthal in Spider-Man 4 Production

Mark Ruffalo is expected to reprise his role as Bruce Banner/Hulk in the upcoming Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures film Spider-Man: Brand New Day, also known as Spider-Man 4. While Ruffalo has not yet seen the script and has not officially confirmed his involvement, he expressed excitement about working with Jon Bernthal, who will portray Frank Castle/The Punisher in the MCU and make his big-screen debut in this film. Ruffalo praised Bernthal's acting and humor, highlighting their mutual friend Lena Dunham and his eagerness to meet Bernthal. The movie, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, also stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Michael Mando returning as Mac Gargan/Scorpion, and new cast members Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Tramell Tillman. Production began in Glasgow, with a focus on filming in real locations, and the film is scheduled for release on July 31, 2026, as part of Phase Six of the MCU. Following this, Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars are set for December 2026 and 2027 respectively.
