Jaguars Place Travis Hunter on IR After Knee Injury

The Jacksonville Jaguars placed rookie two-way standout Travis Hunter on injured reserve after a non-contact right knee injury suffered in Thursday practice and he will miss at least four games. Hunter, the 2024 Heisman winner, has a breakout offensive role this season with 28 receptions for about 298 yards and one touchdown, plus 15 tackles and three pass breakups on defense. Head coach Liam Coen said the team is still assessing the injury, that Hunter is in good spirits, and they will determine the best course forward. The loss creates a significant hole for the 4-3 Jaguars as they return from their bye to face the Las Vegas Raiders, increasing urgency for Brian Thomas Jr. to rebound and for the team to consider reinforcements. Possible trade targets being discussed to shore up the receiving corps include Jakobi Meyers, Romeo Doubs and others as the team evaluates options before the deadline.
