Two women arrested for using stolen ID, check at Southbury bank
In Southbury, Connecticut, 50-year-old Vanessa Rodriguez was arrested after attempting to cash a stolen check using a stolen ID at Ives Bank. Rodriguez, disguised with a wig to resemble the ID's owner, provided a false identity to bank staff before police intervened. Alongside her, 22-year-old Kahlaya McAlphin was charged with conspiracy to commit larceny and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both women were released on $5,000 bonds and are scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 20. Rodriguez faces multiple charges including identity theft, forgery, and criminal impersonation. Police have not disclosed how the stolen ID and check were obtained.
