During their partnership, Chopra achieved significant milestones, including gold medals at the Tokyo Olympics and the World Championships, but struggled in the 2024 season with multiple second-place finishes and injuries. The Athletics Federation of India has shortlisted Sergey Makarov as a potential coach for the country's javelin throwers. Chopra's personal best remains at 89.94m, and he aims to breach the 90m mark under new guidance. The search for a coach is critical as he prepares for the upcoming competitive season and the Paris Olympics.
