Florida State Football Players Named All-Americans
Missouri State football players Grant Burkett and Lance Mason have been selected as Associated Press FCS All-Americans, with Burkett earning his fourth All-America nod and Mason receiving his first. Burkett, a standout punter, averaged 44.07 yards per punt and ranked second in the Missouri Valley Football Conference, while Mason, a tight end, led all FCS tight ends with 17.35 yards per reception. Meanwhile, Florida State's Alex Mastromanno was named a first-team AP All-American punter, becoming the school's first consensus All-American punter since 2011, while kicker Ryan Fitzgerald earned third-team honors. Mastromanno set an ACC record with a 49.3 yards per punt average and ranked first in the nation with 30 punts of over 50 yards. Fitzgerald had a perfect season on field goals, going 13-for-13 and becoming a finalist for the Lou Groza Award. Both Mastromanno and Fitzgerald are now eligible for the NFL Draft following their standout performances.
