Two Arrested in Attleboro Shooting Held Without Bail

Jacob Lacourse, 33, was arrested in connection with a weekend shooting in Attleboro and charged with assault and battery with a firearm, and carrying a firearm without a license. Alexandra Elliott, 30, faces charges of accessory after the fact and intimidation of a witness. Lacourse is being held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing set for November 25. In a separate incident, Julian Helbert from Kernersville faces multiple charges, including involuntary manslaughter and felony child abuse, after his 1-year-old daughter was accidentally shot by another child. Meanwhile, in Virginia Beach, Jawuan Jefferies and Tori’yon Cook are among four individuals charged with malicious wounding in the February shooting of 8-year-old Landyn Davis, who survived after a lengthy hospital stay. Both cases highlight ongoing concerns about firearm safety and legal accountability for gun-related incidents involving minors.
