UTEP, ENMU Enrollment Surges Past 26,000, 6,000 Marks in Fall 2025
The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) has reached a historic enrollment milestone, surpassing 26,000 students for the first time in Fall 2025, with a total of 26,297 students representing a significant increase driven by a nearly 15% rise in freshman enrollment. Growth was especially notable in the College of Nursing and the Woody L. Hunt College of Business, attributed to new programs and expanded scholarships aimed at student success. UTEP President Heather Wilson highlighted the community’s trust in the value of a UTEP degree and the university’s commitment to individualized student support. Meanwhile, Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) also experienced enrollment growth, exceeding 6,000 students for the first time since 2018, with a total of 6,002 students, marking the fourth time in its history reaching this figure. ENMU's increases spanned graduate, transfer, and continuing students, with a notable rise in full-time enrollment leading to a 4.2% increase in student credit hours, supported by efforts to enhance student recruitment and in-person experiences. Both institutions emphasize their dedication to student success and the positive impact of campus life on retention and growth.
