Grand Rapids, Mobile seek artists for commemorative sculptures

Grand Rapids is inviting artists to submit proposals for a new sculpture at Heritage Hill Park, with a budget of $15,000. The city, in collaboration with the Heritage Hill Association, seeks designs that reflect the neighborhood's character, incorporating community input. Artists aged 18 and over, especially local talent, are encouraged to apply by March 28, 2025. From the submissions, a stakeholder group will select three finalists who will create sketches, with each receiving $500. The final design will be chosen through a public vote, with the winning sculpture expected to be revealed on June 27. This initiative aims to enhance the park space while celebrating the unique vibe of the Heritage Hill community.
