Douglas Silva de Andrade Suspended Six Months for Drug Test Failure

UFC bantamweight Douglas Silva de Andrade has received a six-month suspension after testing positive for the banned diuretic furosemide in a February 2025 out-of-competition drug test. The positive result led to his removal from a scheduled fight against John Castaneda, despite both fighters successfully making weight. Subsequent investigation found that the supplement de Andrade had been using, which did not list furosemide as an ingredient, was contaminated with the substance, as confirmed by independent lab testing of both his and a sealed container of the product.
