Welsh rugby star Jonathan Davies has announced his retirement at age 36 to prioritize family life after welcoming his first child. Davies concludes a remarkable career with 96 caps for Wales, two Lions tours, and significant achievements with the Scarlets and Clermont Auvergne. Similarly, former Liverpool defender Joel Matip has retired from football at 33 after leaving the club in the summer. Matip, who was plagued by an ACL injury, decided to retire despite interest from various clubs, including Schalke and Hamburg. Over his eight-year tenure at Liverpool, Matip became a Premier League and Champions League winner and earned 27 caps for Cameroon. He has reportedly started coaching his son's team in Gelsenkirchen, marking a new chapter post-retirement.
