Annual Chili Cook-Offs and Food Festivals

This weekend, various food festivals are set to take place across different regions, celebrating local cuisine and community spirit. In Northeast Minneapolis, Centro will host Corn Fest on October 12, featuring corn-themed dishes and live music from Nur-D and Lazy Scorsese, with family-friendly activities starting at 2 p.m. Meanwhile, Mishawaka, Indiana, will welcome the 26th Annual Michiana Chili Cook-Off on Sunday, benefiting the Food Bank of Northern Indiana, where attendees can taste various chili styles for a small fee. The Downtown Wheaton Chili Cookoff is also happening on October 5, showcasing over a dozen restaurants and live performances, with winners announced in the evening. Additionally, the Savor Jackson County Food and Wine Festival in Gautier, Mississippi, will highlight local culinary talents through competitive tastings. Lastly, the Funky Chicken Rescue in Vacaville is gearing up for its annual Fall Festival, offering a mix of entertainment and animal encounters.
