Volvo Plans Launch of ES90 Electric Sedan on March 5, 2025

Volvo is set to unveil its new electric sedan, the ES90, on March 5, 2025, as part of its push into the electric vehicle market. The ES90, which will be based on the same SPA2 architecture as the EX90 SUV, promises significant technological advancements, including a powerful NVIDIA Drive AGX Orin computing system capable of processing 508 trillion operations per second. It is expected to feature a 111 kWh battery pack, offering a range of over 600 kilometers, alongside advanced safety features such as 12 ultrasonic sensors, eight cameras, five radars, and a LiDAR system, enhancing its active safety capabilities. The vehicle is positioned to compete with other premium electric sedans like the Tesla Model S, Lucid Air, and BMW's i-series. Although exact specifications remain under wraps, Volvo emphasizes the ES90's software-defined approach, allowing for over-the-air updates to improve performance and safety post-purchase.
