Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi criticized Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for his recent claim that an opposition leader offered him support for the Prime Minister's post ahead of the 2024 elections, suggesting Gadkari was using this as a pretext to express his own ambitions. Chaturvedi stated on social media that the INDIA alliance has capable leaders who do not need to borrow from the BJP. Gadkari, during a journalism award ceremony, acknowledged an unnamed opposition leader's offer but emphasized that his loyalty lies with his convictions and party, stating that seeking the PM position is not his aim. He has been considered a potential prime ministerial candidate in previous elections, having won his Nagpur seat three times. Despite his popularity, Gadkari downplayed the significance of the offer, insisting that no external support could sway his commitment to his ideology.
