Pensacola man detained after explosive device incident in Fort Walton Beach

A Pensacola man has been detained following an alarming incident outside a Jimmy John's restaurant in Fort Walton Beach, where he allegedly pointed a rifle at bystanders and threw a small explosive device. The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene around 2:30 p.m. after reports of an armed disturbance. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the building suffered no significant damage. Authorities were able to stop the suspect's vehicle shortly after the incident near Eglin Air Force Base.
