BBC Launches Daily Global Story Podcast Hosted by Khalid, Redman

The BBC is launching a new daily podcast called The Global Story, debuting on September 3, which will explore the intersection of U.S. politics and global events. Hosted by former NPR White House correspondent Asma Khalid in Washington, D.C., and former Al Jazeera international reporter Tristan Redman in London, the podcast aims to analyze how American and international political dynamics influence each other amid shifting alliances, rising authoritarianism, and global turmoil. Executive editor Annie Brown, formerly of The New York Times’ The Daily, joins the team to help shape the narrative-driven show. Episodes will be released each weekday morning and available in the UK via BBC Sounds, and internationally on BBC.com, the BBC app, and major podcast platforms including Spotify and Apple Podcasts, with free access for American listeners despite BBC.com’s new paywall.
