China Protests Modi’s Birthday Wishes to Dalai Lama

China has formally protested Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public birthday wishes to the 14th Dalai Lama and the attendance of senior Indian officials at his 90th birthday event in Dharamshala. The Chinese Foreign Ministry accused the Dalai Lama of separatist activities, urging India to respect its commitments regarding Tibet (referred to by China as Xizang) and to avoid actions that interfere in China's internal affairs.
