Warren Man Ran Trafficking Ring From Jail

Ryan Ramone Wafford, a 33-year-old from Warren, Michigan, has been charged with two counts of human trafficking and one count of accepting earnings from prostitution after allegedly running a trafficking ring from inside the Oakland County Jail while in custody for a probation violation. Authorities allege he used jail communication devices to direct sex labor activities, sending dozens of messages to coordinate the operation. Wafford was arrested at his home by a SWAT team, where one of his victims and her child were found. The Oakland County Human Trafficking Task Force investigated, leading to the rescue of victims. Wafford, who has a criminal history dating back to 2012, faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted and is held on a $250,000 cash bond. Sheriff Michael Bouchard praised investigators for their persistence in uncovering the operation.
