Grandmother killed with hammer

Joshua Lanchester, 23, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in the death of his 76-year-old grandmother, Cynthia Lanchester, who was found dead in their Easton, New Hampshire home on Saturday. The Attorney General's office confirmed that the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head, with a hammer identified as the weapon used. Emergency responders received a 911 call around 11:41 a.m. for a medical emergency and discovered Cynthia's body upon arrival. Joshua was present at the scene and later arrested for recklessly causing her death. He is currently held without bail and is scheduled for arraignment on Monday. The investigation is ongoing, and no motive has yet been disclosed.
