UOB Opens 11th FDI Advisory Centre in Seoul

United Overseas Bank (UOB) has launched its 11th Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Advisory Centre in Seoul, aimed at supporting the increasing number of Korean businesses expanding into Southeast Asia. This initiative comes as South Korean FDI into the region surged from $5 billion in 2017 to $10.9 billion in 2023, reflecting a growing interest in key markets like Indonesia, Vietnam, and Singapore. The Seoul centre builds upon UOB's existing Korean desk in Singapore and will provide customized services such as market entry advisory and regulatory support. Since the establishment of its FDI Advisory Unit in 2011, UOB has assisted over 150 Korean companies, projecting investments nearing S$3 billion. Furthermore, the centre's opening coincided with the Korea-ASEAN Business Forum, co-hosted by UOB and other stakeholders, focusing on investment opportunities in the region. UOB's broader efforts have supported over 5,000 companies in their regional expansion, with total expected investments exceeding S$50 billion since 2020.
