Dead & Company Plans 3-Day 60th Anniversary Concerts San Francisco

San Francisco is set to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Grateful Dead with a three-day concert series by Dead & Company at Golden Gate Park's Polo Fields from August 1-3, pending approval by the Recreation and Park Commission. The band, featuring original members Bob Weir and Mickey Hart alongside John Mayer and others, returns to the city where the Grateful Dead were founded in 1965, honoring the band's deep roots in the Bay Area and the legacy of late member Phil Lesh. Mayor Daniel Lurie highlighted the event as a significant cultural homecoming expected to attract up to 60,000 attendees daily and generate tens of millions in local economic activity, boosting businesses and tourism. The concerts follow Dead & Company's recent residencies at the Las Vegas Sphere and 2023 performances at Oracle Park, maintaining continuity with their final tour originally announced in 2023.
