Bryant Haines Secures Lucrative Contract with Indiana

Indiana University's defensive coordinator, Bryant Haines, has finalized a new and more lucrative contract with the school following significant interest from other major programs such as Notre Dame and Ohio State. The terms of the agreement have improved from a previous memorandum of understanding, which was valued at $1.8 million annually over three years, and included a revised buyout structure. Haines has been instrumental in transforming Indiana's defense into one of the nation's top units, ranking second in total defense and first in rush defense in 2024. His leadership has also helped Indiana reach the College Football Playoff, with the team achieving an 11-2 record, losing only to national champion Ohio State and runner-up Notre Dame. The strong defensive performance under Haines has been recognized nationally, making him a finalist for the Broyles Award, which honors the best assistant coach in the country. This new contract ensures that Haines will remain with Indiana, maintaining his long-term collaboration with head coach Curt Cignetti, with whom he has worked since 2014.
