Cathay Pacific Launches New In-Flight Safety Video

Cathay Pacific has launched a new six-minute in-flight safety video that aims to promote Hong Kong as a vibrant tourism destination while outlining essential safety procedures. Created in collaboration with the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the video features iconic locations such as Shek O Beach, the Peak Tram, and local eateries, interwoven with safety demonstrations. This marks the first update to its safety video in over seven years and will be rolled out across the airline's fleet starting August 1, 2024. Cathay's Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, Lavinia Lau, emphasized that the video reflects the airline's commitment to safety and showcases the essence of Hong Kong. Experts suggest that while the video could attract tourists, it may require more than a polished production to significantly boost tourism. The engaging format aims to keep passengers' attention, making safety information more memorable.
