Rain Suspends Reds-Diamondbacks Game Until Saturday
The Cincinnati Reds and Arizona Diamondbacks game on Friday night was suspended due to heavy rain with the score tied 3-3 after six innings. The rain delay occurred just after the Reds left runners on first and third in the bottom of the sixth inning. The game will resume on Saturday at 2:10 p.m. ET, and the regularly scheduled game will follow about 40 minutes later. Arizona took an early 3-0 lead in the third with back-to-back home runs by Ketel Marte and Geraldo Perdomo, while TJ Friedl and Christian Encarnacion-Strand homered for the Reds to tie the game. Fans with Friday tickets are eligible for discounts on Saturday, and Saturday tickets are valid for both games. This is only the fifth time since 2003 that a game at Great American Ball Park has been suspended and completed the next day.
