Chesterfield Police Kill Suspect in Officer-Involved Shooting

Chesterfield County police officers shot and killed a 23-year-old man, identified as Ronald R. Estes III, after encountering him at a BP gas station early Thursday morning. Estes was wanted in connection with a disturbance and shooting that occurred about an hour earlier, during which he allegedly fired a handgun during an argument but did not injure anyone. When officers located Estes, police say he pulled out a firearm and fired a shot at them, prompting three officers to return fire, resulting in his death at the scene. No officers were injured in the incident, and those involved have been placed on administrative leave while an investigation is underway.
