Guardians Win Series Opener Against White Sox
The Cleveland Guardians extended their winning streak to four games by defeating the Chicago White Sox 4-2 in the opener of their four-game series, with home runs from Carlos Santana, Daniel Schneemann, and Angel Martinez. Logan Allen pitched six effective innings, allowing only two runs and one hit, while Emmanuel Clase earned his 20th save of the season. Luis Robert Jr. hit a two-run homer for the White Sox, who continue to have the worst record in the American League. The Guardians have now won nine of their last ten games against the White Sox and previously swept the Astros. Both teams are coping with injuries to key pitchers and outfielders. The series is broadcast on CLEGuardians.TV, WTAM 1100, WMMS 100.7 FM, and the Guardians radio network.
