Peter Tobin, the notorious serial killer, died on October 8, 2022, from undiagnosed cancer while serving three life sentences at HMP Edinburgh. An inquiry revealed that Tobin refused medical tests despite suggestions of cancer dating back to 2016 and was diagnosed with dementia in December 2020. His death occurred a month after a fall in his cell, during which he was reminded to use a walking stick but took steps without it. Tobin was convicted of the murders of Angelika Kluk, Vicky Hamilton, and Dinah McNicol, with bodies found under the patio of his former home in Margate, Kent. The inquiry highlighted Tobin's numerous health issues, including strokes and chest pains, which contributed to his deteriorating condition. His death was noted to coincide with the anniversary of his first court appearance for murder in 2006.
