Assistant Principal Arrested for Child Molestation

David Lane Braff Jr., a 42-year-old former assistant principal and school counselor, has been arrested and charged with molesting eight children at McKevett Elementary School in Santa Paula, where he worked from 2015 to 2019. He faces 17 felony counts of lewd acts upon a child under 14 and additional special allegations. The Ventura County District Attorney's Office initiated an investigation last month after reports of the allegations surfaced, and concerns are growing that Braff may have victimized more children across multiple Southern California schools. At the time of his arrest, he was employed at Ingenium Charter Middle School and had previously volunteered with youth organizations. Authorities encourage any further victims or witnesses to come forward. Bail has been set at $3 million, and Braff is scheduled for arraignment on November 25.
