Kat Matthews Wins Silver at Ironman Worlds

Captain Kat Matthews of Great Britain secured a silver medal at the 2024 Ironman World Championships in Nice, finishing with a time of 8:53:20, eight minutes behind Germany's Laura Philipp, who claimed her first World Championship title. Matthews had a strong performance throughout the race, leading after the 180km bike course but faced challenges during the marathon, experiencing spasms and cramps that hindered her pace. Despite her struggles, she managed to maintain her position ahead of 2022 champion Chelsea Sodaro.
