Eric Dane Misses 2025 Emmys After ALS Fall

Eric Dane said he missed the 2025 Emmy Awards after falling in his kitchen amid his ongoing battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and was hospitalized and received stitches for a head injury. He had been scheduled to present with Grey’s Anatomy co‑star Jesse Williams for the show’s 20th‑anniversary tribute and said he was "really upset" to miss the reunion while Williams presented solo. Dane publicly disclosed his ALS diagnosis in April and has described losing function on his right side. He says he plans to keep working while leaning on his wife, Rebecca Gayheart, and their two daughters. In the days after the Emmys he has partnered with I AM ALS on the Push for Progress campaign, met with lawmakers and called for increased federal funding and research as he shifts into an outspoken role for ALS awareness.
