Adidas Launches HBCU Crazy 8 Low Sneakers

Adidas Basketball is launching the 'HBCU Crazy 8 Low' collection, a vibrant tribute to five Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) just in time for homecoming season. The collection includes custom colorways for Alabama State, Alcorn State, Grambling State, Prairie View A&M, and Arkansas Pine Bluff, with each sneaker featuring the schools' mascots and colors. The Crazy 8, originally designed as Kobe Bryant's first signature shoe in the late '90s, has been reimagined in a low-top silhouette for this special release. Retailing at $120, the collection will be available on October 1, 2024, through adidas.com and select retailers. This initiative continues adidas's support for HBCUs, following earlier releases during Black History Month. The design not only honors the athletic legacy of these institutions but also celebrates their cultural significance.
