Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert sustained a lower right leg injury during the team's 26-3 victory against the Carolina Panthers. The injury occurred in the third quarter when he was tackled and subsequently limped off the field to receive medical treatment, including X-rays and an MRI. Despite the injury, Herbert finished the game with 130 passing yards, two touchdowns, and an interception, marking one of his lowest yardage totals in a full game. Coach Jim Harbaugh praised Herbert's competitive spirit and noted that the team would have more information on the injury in the coming days. The Chargers are currently 2-0, their best start since 2012, and will face the Pittsburgh Steelers next. Herbert had a prior foot injury this summer but had not shown any restrictions prior to this latest incident.
