Epic Universe Orlando to Open May 22, 2025

Universal Orlando Resort has announced the grand opening of its new theme park, Epic Universe, on May 22, 2025, just ahead of Memorial Day Weekend. This marks the first major theme park opening in Orlando in 26 years and features five themed lands, including attractions based on 'Harry Potter,' 'How to Train Your Dragon,' and Super Nintendo World. Ticket sales will begin on October 22, 2024, with multiday packages that include one day at Epic Universe and additional days at Universal's existing parks. Epic Universe will also introduce a phased ticketing approach to manage expected high demand. Among the new park's features are over 50 attractions and three new hotels, providing a comprehensive vacation experience. Universal's strategic planning aims to alleviate past issues of overcrowding experienced during the opening of its Harry Potter rides in 2010.
