The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts light to moderate rain statewide over the next week, with heavy rainfall expected particularly in South Gujarat from July 12, prompting yellow alerts for regions including Navsari, Valsad, Daman, and Dadra Nagar Haveli. Rainfall intensity is predicted to increase in Saurashtra after July 13, with intermittent heavy showers expected across various districts through July 16. Despite a recent decline in rainfall activity, some regions like Khergam taluka in Navsari and Dharampur in Valsad still saw moderate showers, while others experienced only light rain, indicating a temporary lull in heavy downpours. The monsoon trough and a low-pressure system over neighboring states contribute to the ongoing rainfall pattern. Similar heavy rainfall events have been reported in Rajasthan, especially in Nasirabad and Jaipur, while Bangladesh is expected to see a decrease in rainfall nationwide by Saturday after persistent showers.
