Chesterfield Man Dies in Snowmobile Crash

Derek Graves, a 37-year-old man from Chesterfield, Massachusetts, died after crashing his snowmobile into a tree early Sunday morning around 1:30 a.m. near Smith Road. A friend riding behind him called 911, and despite CPR efforts and transport to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, Graves succumbed to his injuries. The Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, Chesterfield Police, Massachusetts State Police, and Massachusetts Environmental Police are investigating the incident.
