Two-Year-Old Drowns in Wolverhampton Canal During Family Move

A tragic inquest revealed that two-year-old Jayce Olutola drowned in a canal in Wolverhampton on August 11, 2024, while his family was in the process of moving homes due to safety concerns about living close to the water. Jayce was found by a police officer after his great-aunt noticed he was missing and discovered the garage door open. Despite efforts to revive him, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Senior Coroner Zafar Siddique confirmed that Jayce's death was accidental and caused by drowning, emphasizing the family's intent to relocate to minimize the risk of such an incident.
