One of Two Hawks Stolen from SoFi Stadium Found Safe in Hacienda Heights

One of two Harris’s hawks stolen from outside SoFi Stadium on Sept. 28 was recovered Sunday in Hacienda Heights after a homeowner spotted the bird and contacted Inglewood police, allowing falconer Charles Cogger to reunite with Bubba. The hawks had been inside green carriers in a maroon Kawasaki Mule UTV that was stolen from the stadium’s lake area and later found abandoned in South Los Angeles; two dead quails recovered with the vehicle were initially thought to be the missing birds but were used as food. Alice, the second hawk, remains missing and authorities have released a suspect photo and description while asking the public for tips (Crime Stoppers has offered a reward). The trained raptors are used for bird-abatement at SoFi Stadium, are captive-banded for identification, and their welfare is time-sensitive because they cannot go long without food or water. Investigators have not announced any arrests and urged anyone with information to contact the Inglewood Police Department.
