Fatal High-Speed Police Pursuit in Fontana, California
Two people have died and three others have been injured after a car crash in Chino Valley, Arizona on Saturday. The driver of a Mercury sedan, aged 72, and their passenger, aged 85, were both taken to hospital in critical condition, but later died. The driver of the other vehicle, a 44-year-old woman, and her two children, were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police do not believe that speed or impairment were factors in the collision. In a separate incident in Fontana, California on the same day, two people were killed and two police officers were seriously injured during a police chase. The chase lasted for less than 30 seconds, but the suspect vehicle reached speeds of over 100 mph. The driver lost control of the car and crashed into a police vehicle. Both the suspect driver and one of the police officers were rushed to hospital in a critical condition. The other officer suffered serious injuries.
