Indian Duo Loses in Macau Open Semifinals

The Indian women's doubles team of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand concluded their campaign at the 2024 Macau Open Super 300, losing to Chinese Taipei's Hsieh Pei Shan and Hung En-Tzu in the semifinals. The match ended with scores of 17-21, 21-16, and 10-21, marking the Indian pair's third defeat to the Taipei duo this year. Despite a strong comeback in the second game, the Indians faltered in the decisive game, allowing their opponents to build a significant lead. This exit also signifies their second consecutive semifinal loss in the BWF World Tour, having previously lost at the Singapore Open in June. Their run in Macau was notable as they reached the semifinals for the first time since that event. Hsieh and Hung will advance to the finals against Li Wen Mei and Zhang Shu Xian from China.
